Had my Twitter trends set to the US as it's where my biggest portion of followers is but it's just too tempting to watch all the political madness & get sucked in. Changed it back to Ireland and am now likepic.twitter.com/S4mzOTqB9d

Biggest difference between our politics & yours in the US is that over here everyone is pretty skeptical of all politicians, regardless of how they lean. Probably easier to be this way as there isn't the same kind of extreme binary divide in beliefs here.

Also, the idea of idolizing politicians is alien to us, including the ones on 'our' side. Our news is very matter of fact, just 'This is what happened today', they don't really give opinions on it like Fox or CNN.

Depends how you consume the news to be fair. The papers over here (England) and I'm sure in Ireland as well are almost as bad as the "entertainment news" in America...

I know I am speaking as an American, but quite a bit of the UK news that I've seen has been pretty terrible, frankly. Almost on par with how tabloid-y US news is.
