In my experience, if you specifically delay a fast travel system in a game with a LOT of walking, you're trying to pad play time. Designers have done that for decades, it's not some strange accusation. Can still be a good game, just not a design decision I can tolerate.
Plus it's not a particularly interesting world to run back & forth in. I'd have liked the FT to have been introduced earlier but it's fine now that I got it

THANK YOU. My point exactly. When I say half of those six hours were spent running back and forth, that's exactly it: just running. If I had something to do other than half marathons, sign me up. This one? Not for me.
