Yeah, that's something that can actually seriously annoy me when watching a musical movie - that the songs are performed *too* perfectly. Like, you can tell where some sound editor came in and added the autotune or whatever. It kinda ruins the moment for me.

I mean, if it's an actual flaw that needed to be covered? Sure. But more often than not, hearing the songs without the autotune and added crap they sound perfectly good.

I think the best comparison I can make is it's the difference between "clean" and "sterile" - sterile just bothers me. It smells wrong, it feels wrong. Same when music is too sterile - it just sounds wrong to me. I dunno if that makes much sense, though.
