Comparing Disturbed's Sound of Silence cover for example, live versions always sound better than studio. You jusy get that rawness that is otherwise lost after however many takes in a booth.

Was never a fan of that version tbh... the autotune is horrible. Can imagine it's much better live, he definitely has the voice to carry it

They actually didn't autotune it at all, if interviews are to be believed. Having seen it live though, it's pretty unreal. Always been a fan thougg so maybe I'm biased, but damn.

As someone intimately familiar with audio engineering I am very skeptical of that claim, haha. If not autotune, Melodyne seems to have been heavily applied
