that's what they say, but ehat you should take from it that your bass needs more overtones/paralel distortion for upper mids

It's got plenty of upper mids and in most songs even an octave sine wave above the bassline.

rule of thumb for making bass audible 250 and 2.5k. Obv i cant judge cause I don't hear. But it should sound good 4 all

Also boosting bass at 250 is only useful for fundamentals around B or C, and 2.5k is only useful for making very clanky bass

Not to mention a boost at 250 can severely clash with the snare drum... there's no real rule for these things!
