Natural reflexes - some like the press up to look up, some think in camera sense and tilt up to look down

just how you think of camera controls can flip around, if you're "Piloting" a body its flipped, if you ARE the body it's not

technically speaking touch navigation works the same as inverted axis. pull down to go up, and vice versa. that's my guess
-
plus flight controls, i guess, but i doubt your girlfriend has a lot of experience piloting airplanes, fake or not :P

Don't know why, but I know a few who have the same issue. Quite interesting, though.

Some feel its more natural... like tilting your head back (and pulling back on stick) to look up.

some ppl relate it to "move it up, look up" and some to say the movement of the head, depends. i hate inverted axis Y tho

My guess is it has to do with how you conceptualize the camera in your mind. Does the Y-axis control your eyes or your neck?
-
If camera is your head, push "forward" to tilt head forward -> down. If eyes, push "up" to tilt eyes up. Same stick motion.
