Any sound/music people hate mixing songs in key of C? High bass note has no oomph & the lower one (32.7hz) is too subby for good definition

@miracleofsound I tend to low cut anything below ~40 hz anyway.3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@miracleofsound But aren't those low frequencies only mudding up the mix? I'm still in music production school and that's what we're taught.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@JonasMageroy@miracleofsound In a pop tune, sure, it might be muddy. In dubstep, for example, sub-40hz is the entire genre's mojo.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@jasonshealy@JonasMageroy Yeah honestly someone's given you bad advice by telling you that's a rule. it works sometimes, not others :)2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@miracleofsound@JonasMageroy My music theory teacher suggested that you can only break a rule once you've followed it a time or two.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@jasonshealy @JonasMageroy now that's some good advice :) Know exactly what you're doing by breaking it and how you're gonna compensate
