When I am president I will pass a law which states that open world games must let you keep playing after the ending

The ending also has that "rebuilding hyrule" bit. Lots of other Zelda games have that post game cutscene where things get wrapped up, and they just wouldn't work properly if you then put the player back with the same world, after the ending. But they don't do it badly tbh.

Admittedly I've not played Cyberpunk (which started this whole convo). But I know that it's not always done badly everywhere. I think how "RPG" the game is also makes a difference. You're playing Link's story, not your own creation's so it's less of a problem.
