Folks when I talk about enjoying a game on my socials it doesn't mean I am blind to its flaws.
One of the reasons I left the podcast last year was to avoid the constant anger & conflict of videogames discourse - I simply choose to focus on the good side of things these days

People getting genuine joy out of something and expressing it online is kind of what I love most on the internet. Sure, people connecting over things to complain about works for some, but it's... healthier for my internet diet if I ingest more positivity. So, thanks, Gav!

Yes. Yes. Yes! We love you, Gav! Don’t get swept up in the hateful bollocks! Enjoy yourself (it’s later than you think) and revel in the things you love rather than getting bogged down in unnecessary negativity

This is why I love your tweets. I can talk about the flaws all I want, but it's nice to have a break in the monotony of negative takes in my timeline.

It's surprising how quickly people forget about other releases that were bugged and were called "the worst ever" but now enjoy them, same thing, we get enough negative things around now, so I focus on positives waiting for negatives to be fixed which we already know is happening

You have been, and continue to be, the good side of gaming, Gav!

I've been taking this approach recently as best as I can. I've had to start muting people i enjoy because its a constant barrage of negativity. I get it, be upset, but you dont need 20 tweets and 7 videos about the topic.

It's not about catharsis, if nobody talks, nothing will ever change. But I understand if you don't want to deal with all the negativity and BS that comes with it.

Of course, discussing this stuff is good. But I'm not obliged to join in

This is such an excellent opinion Gav, and correct. After all, nothing is perfect, and if a thing brings joy and pleasure in spite of its shortcomings, then this is the main thing)
