Folks when I talk about enjoying a game on my socials it doesn't mean I am blind to its flaws.
One of the reasons I left the podcast last year was to avoid the constant anger & conflict of videogames discourse - I simply choose to focus on the good side of things these days

Of course if you are upset at the flaws in a videogame and having a rant on twitter is catharsis for you, go for it! That's just not the right path for me personally. I'll respect your approach and you respect mine and it's all gravy

This is kind of how I feel about music criticism.

that’s what I’ve been doing lately as well. The only thing I really like to talk about and can get a little heated about is representation in games since it means a lot to me. But when there’s something to enjoy in a game I usually just focus on that and it is so much better.
-
That's totally understandable

Its why I have mostly stopped reading and listening about games as gaming was just becoming too depressing. I really enjoyed TLOU Part 2 and I see its flaws but god knows what my mindset would have been like if I had read everything on social media when it released.
-
I would love to have gone into that game not having had it spoiled. The tricks it used to manipulate my emotions felt very transparent and I wonder would that have been quite so egregious to me had I just been seeing the story unfold as I experienced it

I adopted this same mindset about movies/series/games/entertainment in general a few years ago and it's just better for me. No gain for me personally complaining about them, just enjoying for what they are.
But ofcourse to everyone his own thing, that's true! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

One of my favorite RPGs ever is Shadow Madness on PS1, and X-Play notoriously named it one of the worst RPGs of all time on one episode. Not bitter with X-Play over it, I'm just super glad I loved that game so much. The atmosphere and dialogue is still top notch
-
Sometimes, if you can afford it, it's nice to go into a game with as little knowledge as possible and get surprised. When I know I'm getting a game, I'll just check if there's performance issues and try to go in as blind as I can. It's bliss at times

the whole thing is kinda surreal to me, I'm playing Cyberpunk and apart from the occasional T-posed npc, I'm not really experiencing any bugs, so I'm kinda scratching my head at all the news
-
Honestly, same. I have not encountered all that many bugs. I do feel bad for console players tho, they deserve to enjoy a game that runs well
