Sometimes I get caught up in these new music equipment/gear crazes, then I have to take a step back and remind myself none of it matters and writing an amazing song has nothing to do with gear

I think finding the balance between creative and technical can be really tricky. I finally started outsourcing my mixing this year which freed me up so much to give more time and attention to writing, playing, singing etc.... IMO it's absolutely worth the investment

I can see how freeing up that time could be less taxing and allow more creativity! I’m sure outsourcing to another engineer adds new flavor as well considering it than becomes more collaborative. I have control issues rn would love to try it if I find the right engineer someday

I also have control issue, I know your pain haha. It's why it took me 10 years to find the right guy

Happy you found him! Been loving the tunes! I’m sure mixing those sessions is a whole different animal, you always have so many layers and your tracks are always incredibly dynamic. Inspiring

Yeah honestly mixing them is a fucking nightmare

I’ve been mixing a lot more organic drum kits, electric guitars and such this year and it opened my mind to the incredibly frustrating world of mixing rock/metal music. No where near the size of your tracks but I got a peak at that nightmare. I don’t wish that pain upon anybody
