I often feel it's generally healthier not to idolize creators. It's possible to love & enjoy someone's work without putting your emotions & personal stakes into this stranger you've never met. You then avoid feeling hurt or betrayed when they fuck up or turn out to be a dickhead

Anyway, none of this is to judge or chastise anyone out there. Just more of a 'thinking out loud about the wider culture around entertainers and its effect on our minds & hearts' kinda thing. Back to making tunes!

The parasocial stuff became so much more of a common issue with the advent of streaming. Considering people are able to develop para relationships with characters on TV shows, being able to directly interact with a "celebrity" on a daily or weekly basis will only feed into that.
