I often feel it's generally healthier not to idolize creators. It's possible to love & enjoy someone's work without putting your emotions & personal stakes into this stranger you've never met. You then avoid feeling hurt or betrayed when they fuck up or turn out to be a dickhead

Of course, being liked and admired is seductive for creators - we're only human after all. But it's a line we must tread carefully because you risk people forming parasocial relationships and one-way emotional dependencies. It's certainly something I struggle to balance.

Anyway, none of this is to judge or chastise anyone out there. Just more of a 'thinking out loud about the wider culture around entertainers and its effect on our minds & hearts' kinda thing. Back to making tunes!
