Hey Gav! Do you plan on trying out Hades by SupergiantGames? It’s a Greek mythological roguelike developed by the same people of Bastion. You might have blast playing it. @miracleofsound

Unfortunately I can't stand games that make me start over when I die, I find it utterly demotivating :(

This is the exact reason I could never get on with Souls games. I hear you.

in souls you get checkpoints (bonfires) in a game like Hades you literally go to the start again

Well that's even worse holy shit

Yeah Souls is actually very forgiving. Never lose more tham a few minutes of progress

I guess I'm worse than you then. Getting into the bloody cathedral did for me in the end. I enjoyed watching other people do it instead though.

Anor Londo? Yeah that part is notoriously difficult and unfair haha. I quit the game there in my first playthrough too

The worst part is I know it was doable because I'd seen people do it. But having to do that bit again and again just killed off my desire to play. Still a great game though.

I think there are some games you just prefer to watch - and for me, the Souls games are amongst those.

Perfectly fair :D Maybe try 3, it's a lot more fair with difficulty
