Artists will treat music like a competion but it’s not. You don’t have to be on the billboard list to have a huge audience. It’s not about politics/algorithms it’s about the music being good or not. If you think you deserve more u lost Look internally

Definitely need to constantly grow your skill set. The moment you think there’s nothing else to learn, you lost. Although I’m not sure if it’s all about the music either. You can have the best content but if you’re bad at SEO there’s a good chance no one will see it

I kinda agree with ye both, never stop improving. But it's ok and normal to feel a little demoralised when you make something you think is great and it doesn't do as well as you had hoped

Yea I agree, that really can be the worst sting sometimes. It’s never a guarantee my belief just lies in the odds going up if an artist stays consistent and never quits!

100%. I can relate, was years before I saw numbers go up and had any form of real income. I’ve always tried to use that as a driving force to create more, never makes the floaters hurt less for me either though

I’ve found peace in just maintaing a healthy financial lifestyle with a music income. The beauty in music to me is that you don’t have to have mega success to have an audience and make a living. That’s what I was getting at in my initial post, it’s my favorite part of all this

Absolutely. Making even a modest living from doing something you love is a great place to be in life :)
