That said, yes times have changed. Algorithms run the world and whether we like it or not, constant engagement does help artists to keep peoples' attention. It can be exhausting and artists keep getting burned out, but that's where we are now unfortunately

And quality usually demands time. I doubt one can produce quality and creative music consistently (or anything else really) if they are in a rush to produce lots of stuff all the time.

A lot of the comments on that thread miss the a lot of the reason why Spotify/Pandora are so big tho. I know most people aren't looking to buy albums, they either want to make a custom Playlist or they want to listen to the app like a radio.

Gods I hate this. Every human act is being marketed in this age no matter what you're doing & they expect not just a quantity of work but for that work to be quality too & it just isn't going to happen. Hopefully people won't listen to this.
