I can' see any reason to disagree with the principle unless you A) don't understand it B) are racist

I've met people that truly don't understand racism which is insane to me. Met a guy from Alaska and he never had seen or met a black person before and he thought I was the best dude ever. Lol I think that racism is taught by racist parents.

I agree, watching my son play with other kids from various ethnic backgrounds - these prejudices aren't born in us, they are learned

Unfortunately, a lot of places are so ethnically non-diverse that it's hard to acquire real life experience relating to other cultures. Obviously when you are older, you can travel and such, but kids I mean. Wish it was easier for them to make friends across all the lines.

Ireland was the whitest country imaginable until the 2000s and while there are racism issues here, it is nowhere near what it is in the US. We don't need to be 'taught' not to hate. The US has an endemic history of systemic racism & oppression passed on through generations.

In not talking about being taught not to hate. I'm saying that most people don't hate, but they allow hate to happen because they are not personally invested enough, and it's easier to be invested if you are personally connected.

That's true. Which is why teaching empathy through teaching history is so important!
