When you respond to 'Black Lives matter' with 'All lives matter' you miss the point. OF COURSE all lives matter, but there are people and societal systems in America that treat black peoples' lives as though they don't. That's why the slogan focuses on 'black lives'.

"All Lives Matter" is the same whataboutery that's been holding back Justice here in Northern Ireland for decades. It's purpose isn't some humanitarian plea for equality, but to perpetuate the status quo and the pier structures it represents. Full support to the protesters

Excellent point. Of course all lives matter, but the BLM movement is pointing out that black lives need our help right now, because they are in terrible danger. If one really believes all lives matter, then it's even more imperative to defend black lives.

Whilst I agree, I think that AllLivesMatter (as a name for a movement) is better than BlackLivesMatter, as the latter still distinguishes between colours of skin. I don’t see Floyd as a black man who was killed, I see him - primarily - as a human, and more to the point,
