I can see where you are coming from with it being over-produced, but I also feel like that is what people likes about it; that it is over-the-top on the vocals.

It’s a beautiful version, it makes me feel much more emotional than the Simon and Garfunkel version (and I adore Paul Simon). And I’ve seen live versions and it feels just as good imo.
