Sadly my audience is split. If I make a metal/rock song I get complaints asking for me to do a different genre. I do a different genre, then get complaints that it’s not rock/metal lol

Just keep doing you man. I used to get the same thing - Your audience will adapt to your genre hopping after a while & see it as a plus

There’s an argument to be made for the other side too unfortunately. They can not get used to it & the ones that subbed for a single genre can grow bored of the channel & leave. It’s possible that Gav lost those fans but picked up subs that are interested in all genres over time.

It’s POSSIBLE that if you stuck to one rock genre since the beginning your channel would be bigger now. I know exactly what the concerns are about mental health/creativity to that and of course you should do what make YOU happy above all else, but that’s my two cents

Yeah I could be a lot bigger for tons of different reasons lol. But I ultimately make what makes me happy and grow at a rate that’s fit for it.

You develop a very loyal fan base this way as well. They just click because there excites for your content rather then the topic.

(Though that said, I'd be lying if I said my Witcher, GOT & Fromsoft songs didn't get more clicks than my personal songs haha)
