Legitimate question: why exactly are people bitching about microtransactions in Wolfenstein? Simply because they exist, or something else?

You can really feel the artificial stretching too with the leveling system and bullet sponge enemies too.

Most microtransactions are just the stuff we used to get from cheat codes or unlocks. Can you imagine if they released Goldeneye today? You can guarantee paintball mode and odd-job would be behind a paywall

shadow of war is the best case of the game was crippled desgin wise in order to make loot boxes viable then they came a long months later ripped that nonsense out and the game improved 100%

Assassins creed odyssey was a bad one for this found myself under leveled a lot then had the game going why not buy our xp boosters to speed up this tedious grind we crafted just to sell some nonsense! one day they'll ask you to pay for the game to play itself while you watch
-
Honestly I see the issue with this but I've never had any issue levelling steadily in Odyssey.

Even cosmetic ones annoy me in games like Destiny, where sharing your character's visual style is a huge part of the experience

I'll do you one better... The usual game is released at a $60 price point. Then there are MTs between $5 and $100+ It's corporate greed. Let them reduce the cost of the game itself if they're gonna nickle and dime us into oblivion.
