Hoping they stick to their guns there. Best definition of the genre I ever read was "Transhumanism is about how technology will solve the demons that have plagued the human condition since the beginning of time. Cyberpunk is about how technology -won't-."
-
Cyberpunk is 100% anti capitalist. The transhumanist counter it's seemed to gain recently is mainstream media capitalizing on the genre, but recognizing the anti authoritarian edge doesn't sell well.

Can you give an example of a game that has shoe horned in politics, just because? I honestly cant think of one. What I see all the time is stuff like Devision 2 and Watch Dogs 3. Where they choose a very political theme to build their game around, and then say its not political.

Gaming in general isn't the genre for you if you dislike politics. I'm still looking forward to people exploding about the "added" politics to Final Fantasy 7.

Well no shit Sherlock xD

It's more that most devs refuse to admit their games are political, like every single Ubisoft game.

If you're someone who doesn't like political themes in your entertainment then Cyberpunk is definitely not the genre for you
