if you have something nice to say to your favorite artist or actor on social media. Just say something nice and then move on. They got lives too.

I think that’s a very professional way to handle things. And it is a good reminder that just because you follow an artist doesn’t mean you’re friends with them. You can be *friendly* with someone you follow and admire, but that boundary still exists even in the connected age.
-
I say this as someone who has only ever been a fan and not a creator. I know the line can be difficult to discern sometimes. Especially if the creator’s work has a big impact on us, and we feel a connection but there is an ethical way to be a fan, and it’s important to adhere to.

You do you, Gav! I appreciate you taking the time to make so much great music for us, and I'm grateful we've gotten to hang out a few times in person. Boundaries are healthy for keeping yourself both happy and creative. Cheers!

I would be disappointed all around the clock, if I expected everyone I'm a fan of to reply to my every comment. Life is a bitch enough as it is even without doing that. I'd rather expect nothing and then be overjoyed on the rare occasion that they do respond.

I'm the same way

See, I don't understand this mindset at all. Since when did creators have an obligation to respond to every tweet at them? When I throw out a mention or a question to a creator I pray it gets answered. You folks already give us so much of your heart. You're not obligated.
-
True. It's nice to respond to as many as possible but getting to everyone all the time is impossible
