I totally get the criticisms of last night's GOT (in particular how certain things were too rushed & some people acted very out of character) but I... still liked it? I thought it was beautifully shot & IMO there were 2 very fitting endings to two long term character plotlines
I totally get that & I don't disagree entirely! I hope the final episode it much more character-based, we've had enough battles now

It's not that they only do spectacle and no story or dialogues etc anymore, they try to do both. It's just that they completely mess up all these other things, so it's only the spectacle that makes it still fun to watch.

To be fair, these other things are (mostly) also fun to watch, but mainly because it's all based on the groundworks of a masterpiece of a series. Now it's only a bad, one dimensional shell of it's former self that feeds off our love for this story and these characters.
