Sure, technically we didn't HAVE to work that many days in a row or do 3 peoples' jobs each... but it was vindictively implied by management that to refuse was lazy, selfish or 'not being team players'. It sucked. Staff had mental breakdowns & quit. Fuck that shit!

Kinda why I refuse to work more then 4 days a week (8 hrs max a day). Now here lately my boss has asked if I would come in (like today) or stay later (like last night) and the workaholic in me just can't say no. But ya (sorry for the small rant) fuck companies overworking people.

Yeah; I watch what goes on in private companies that touch on what I do (I'm on the government side), and I've watched so many friends/acquaintances just burn out over the years. And they're not treated as poorly as in the companies making the news recently.

I could be making way more money if I shifted to the private sector, but it just doesn't seem worth the time I'd lose.

I worked 9 consecutive days at a Wal-Mart pushing carts for a summer job and I thought that was bad.

It is bad!

Controversial opinion: Fuck companies that use terms like "family" when talking about the employees. Usually, this is a coercion tactic to get more blood/sweat/tears out of you by creating an emotional obligation to the "family".

Oh, absolutely
