I think Sekiro's difficulty model is perfect 90% of the time, but 10% of the encounters just get boring because of how much perfection they demand from the player. You stop 'learning' and just mindlessly repeat something until you make zero mistakes. Not a fan of that design.

That was EXACTLY the thought I had while playing.

and then there's the camera. Ohhh lordy the camera sucks a whole bucket of ass in some of those encounters

That's because it is indeed a rythm game at heart :D I like this combat design a lot even though it can get a bit samey. The only bs part to it are the grabs which have the weirdest hitboxes, but aside from that the parry windows are very generous...

Definitely agree. A lot of the bosses have very slim attack windows so most of the difficult fights are endurance based. Another thing that I noticed is how random the attack patterns are for bosses, Sometimes they do certain moves and others they don't.

I like that the game allows for such precision, but not that it demands that precision. It's nice for players who can play at that high of a skill level to be able to do so, but it shouldn't be required.

If they only could make the camera work better

24 hours in, it’s honestly my favorite From Software game to date, I love how much it reminds me of the Tenchu series

90% of the game feels like Tenchu Souls and is great, and then you get to the fights that suddenly turn the game into Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and it just becomes frustrating.
