There’s no denying the power of games to make us feel achievement. Overcoming challenges that seemed insurmountable is a reason many of us play. But get a grip here lads, lionizing that feeling as some sort of crucial life lesson says more about your experience than anything else

I wish people would as fiercefully defend authorial intent and the artistic vision of games if it’s about putting female avatars in games or the ending of BioWare trilogies as they do when it’s about difficulty levels in one game

It's almost like theres a difference between improving something that effects your life, and improving at a source of entertainment. These threads have been amusing, but come on lads. We're talking about video games. Enjoy the art your way and let others do it their way.

I always wonder if people would retroactively hate on bloodborne or demons souls if they patched in an easy mode now Like would that suddenly ruin the game? Hell are the PC versions with mods terrible to them? People can have trophies/achievements to say they beat hard mode

There are already mods for the PC version that make Sekiro easier. I'm fully aware of their existence. My knowledge of them doesn't hinder my enjoyment of the game at all. If anything, it makes me happy that now I have more people to talk to abt the game.

I am actually at the point where I don’t find playing hard games or winning in a multiplayer one very rewarding. My overall enjoyment is the only metric I care about when playing now and overcoming a big challenge in a game doesn’t really affect that at all anymore

I play games to relax. Sometimes that relaxation is by overcoming something in a game. Othertimes it's having a laugh in said game. Those saying you "can't handle having to work". A game is a game. Work is work. A game doesn't have to feel like work.

What I don't understand is, if you played on an easy mode, you'll still be getting better at the game. "Saying their shouldn't be an easy mode you just need to get better at the game." Well I can still do that on easy. I learn more through success then I do through constant fails

This is just a microcosm of a larger problem with the community. That problem is a lot of people thinking every game, every conversation, every socio-political issue must conform to their narrow POV. None of the edgelords saying this BS have ever struggled in their life.
