Every successful artist has a 'Your old stuff was better' minority and they can double in number if we change up our style. That's ok! Tastes differ. But it must be really tough creatively & emotionally to experience it to this extreme level. Sad to see an artist feel stifled. https://twitter.com/GetterOfficial/status/1113613494715338753 …

I couldn't get into any Faith No More that wasn't "The Real Thing" but this is making me feel like I should give the rest another shot.

That's one of my least fave by them, the songs are amazing but I feel like Mike's voice really got better as they went on

Head on Straight by Tonic, Break the Spell by Daughtry, pretty much every MoS album does something that wasn't in the previous ones. If it's well made and doesn't make your head implode like a poorly played out-of-tune set of bagpipes don't go crying about it like some manchild.

I still remember the response you got from "Fires Fade", and that I too didn't liked the pace of the song and how different it "felt" but after the third listen it "clicked" for me and I listen that song to this day

My brother loves Blind Guardian, and he's told me that he dislikes every album when he first hears it, and then a few weeks later he realises how brilliant it is. Sometimes that change is necessary to make something even better.
