One example is the Mikiri vs Jump evasion system. No matter how long I practiced, no matter how many times I did it over 50+ hours of play, my hands & brain were never once able to react fast enough to know which one was the right choice. It was always a 50-/50 gamble.

And this is what I think a lot of people don't seem to grasp - we all have different skill ceilings. Something that YOU don't find that hard to master is something another person may never be able to pull off no matter how hard they try.

And finally, in no way do I feel that From or any other dev are obliged to make any game easier for those with less skill. Their art is theirs. All I'm saying is that as a massive From fan for years, I enjoyed this game less than their other ones SOLELY because of the difficulty

I didn't feel that way at all in this game. I mean, I literally mentioned it in this thread:https://twitter.com/miracleofsound/status/1111793676731199488 …

God forbid Miyazaki add difficulty modes to a video game already selling for $60. But sure, making video games straight out of the 90s is a unique creative vision that mustn't ever be compromised (as I'm sure it NEVER was in the pursuit of commerce to begin with).

And I'm saying their vision is 100% theirs, but it unfortunately did not manifest itself into a fun experience this time for me, a long time fan. Nothing in what I said implied they should change their vision or feel obliged to cater to anyone but themselves

To be clear, I don't blame these devs for not adding difficulty modes. I blame Activision for not requiring it and console manufacturers for letting it on their stores. Indie devs can do whatever, but AAA games should follow industry-accepted accessibility standards.
