Having reached the end of Sekiro, a few thoughts: 1. I loved this game 2. I would love loved it a lot more if it had a lower difficulty. I'm not saying it 'should' have it, or that my experience is the 'right' one, just that for me, it was much too hard to be fun at times

As my first From game, this game can be a nightmare at times, particularly with some of these damn mini bosses. Still, I keep coming back to it so it's doing it's job right and I am having fun inbetween wanting to break my controller.

You jumped in at the deep end for sure!

Do you think they made it extra-difficult to try and appease Souls vets? E.g. if the game was released new, without the history of dark souls, it wouldnt have been as difficult as it is?
-
I think more likely they just like making really fuckin hard games :D

Here’s the bummer: this is my favorite FromSoft game because this is easier for me than Dark Souls and Bloodborne. There’s no rpg point allocation so you never have to worry about doing something wrong that you don’t even understand.

So it feels like “Yes, I finally fit in with everybody, I’m ok at a FromSoft game!!” and all anybody says is it’s too hard.

I love everything about the souls games and bloodhound, but I suck so fucking bad at them I get only frustration from them. I truly wish they had an easier mode just so I could enjoy the music and the art design.

I totally understand!

I have tried Souls 2, 3, and a bit of Sekiro at a friends place. I have concluded that the games simply are not for me. I find the grab attacks and instakill attacks far too frustrating. It feels less like skill and more like luck and grind. I'm sure I'll love your song, tho.
