Having reached the end of Sekiro, a few thoughts: 1. I loved this game 2. I would love loved it a lot more if it had a lower difficulty. I'm not saying it 'should' have it, or that my experience is the 'right' one, just that for me, it was much too hard to be fun at times

And this is what I think a lot of people don't seem to grasp - we all have different skill ceilings. Something that YOU don't find that hard to master is something another person may never be able to pull off no matter how hard they try.

And finally, in no way do I feel that From or any other dev are obliged to make any game easier for those with less skill. Their art is theirs. All I'm saying is that as a massive From fan for years, I enjoyed this game less than their other ones SOLELY because of the difficulty

An adjustment I would make to Sekiro's combat: only one change, the "Danger" kanji that appears for sweep, thrust and grab attacks changes color based on the type of attack. Grabs could appear in red, sweeps in orange, and thrusts in yellow.

This actually would make the entire game at least 25% more playable & fun for me

Oh this hurts me. I really love the Mikiri/Goomba system. Reminds me of fighting games where you have to learn the difference between grapples and overheads and things. Maybe making the Glyph pop up a different color for each move might be a nice easy mode.

This one is really noticeable in the Guardian Ape fight when he has two perilous attacks: one requires you jump immediately, the other requires you wait a second, then jump - except you have no fair way of knowing which it is and if you wait for the visual "tell", you risk death.

I 100 % believe that the different perilous attacks not having different Kanji indicators was a major mistake with the core design of the game. I love it but fuck that noise

Same. I've just been trying to learn what any individual enemy is more likely to do.

I had the same problem with Mikiri. My biggest source of annoyance was the goddamn lightning reversal, which half of the time didn't seem to work. It felt like there was some input lag or delay involved.
