Having reached the end of Sekiro, a few thoughts: 1. I loved this game 2. I would love loved it a lot more if it had a lower difficulty. I'm not saying it 'should' have it, or that my experience is the 'right' one, just that for me, it was much too hard to be fun at times

One example is the Mikiri vs Jump evasion system. No matter how long I practiced, no matter how many times I did it over 50+ hours of play, my hands & brain were never once able to react fast enough to know which one was the right choice. It was always a 50-/50 gamble.

And this is what I think a lot of people don't seem to grasp - we all have different skill ceilings. Something that YOU don't find that hard to master is something another person may never be able to pull off no matter how hard they try.

And finally, in no way do I feel that From or any other dev are obliged to make any game easier for those with less skill. Their art is theirs. All I'm saying is that as a massive From fan for years, I enjoyed this game less than their other ones SOLELY because of the difficulty

It's weird because for me Sekiro is a lot easier than either DaS1, DaS3, or Bloodborne (none of which I ever actually finished because I felt that "looming dread" with them I didn't feel but once here) for me, but I suppose the gameplay style doesn't click with everyone.

*for either Sekiro's style or Soulsborne's style.

My biggest gripe right now is surrounding loads of mini-bosses with mobs. They're already challenging enough on their own and 1v1 combat is where the game excels so surrounding them with mobs I first have to deal with while trying not be 2 shot by the boss isn't fun it's tedious.

This is the most accurate summary of how I feel with these games, ever. I dread the next boss.

I'm still early in the game and all too often I come out of an encounter feeling like I won with sheer dumb luck. I beat lady butterfly because she forgot to trigger her illusions and I still have no idea how to avoid damage from the on fire bull but I buttonmashed a win somehow.

Also DS and Bloodborne have lots of ways to adjust the difficulty to your preference. Lots of different builds etc, and the ability to grind to make a boss easier. In Sekiro your power level is much more tightly controlled.

Interestingly I feel the exact same.
