I think the "shitty elitist" are afraid to lose the little they have is the main reason for that behaviour.

You don’t lose anything by an easier mode existing in a singleplayer game dude. Except the sadistic glee in being able to tell people they aren’t good enough to enjoy the same toys as you.

Thats not true. Difficulty in games just dont work, its the design. Put the Witcher or skyrim on highest difficulty and its not Working as say, a from-game, because the game design does not work with higher difficulty. I cant think of any game where putting the difficulty higher

Makes it a better or more satisfying experience. Just giving enemys more Hp does not equal the game design we see in soulsbourne games for example, im sure you agree on that?

I can only think of one example where a difficutly setting made the game more fun to me and that was the survival mode of Fallout 4, since it made dmg higher for both parties not just oh look more bulletsponges. I played my first time The Witcher 3 on the highest difficulty and

Four whole tweets to say that difficulty options are bad if done badly isn’t much of a stance.

Tell me where its done right. Because that kind of the essence of our conversation. If sekiro would have a easy mode, but would exist in the way it is now as "normal" experience i would not bat an eye at all, since i dont mind how people play their games

There are tonnes of things they could do. Longer parry windows, more iframes, longer time to be spotted, fewer grab attacks in the RNG, posture damage modifiers, clearer mikiri/jump indications etc etc.... I'm not a game designer those are just off the top of my head

as a separate mode you mean? or things they should have changed in the basic design?

Separate mode (although the mikiri vs jump decision happens far too fast for me to react no matter how many times i practice it & I've played almost 50 hours. Just feels like a 50/50 gamble)

As i said i wouldnt mind a easy mode for sekiro if i could play the game the way its designed, so yeah id be happy for that. I also tend to panick when i see the sign and kinda jump/dodge at the same time xD Moonlight lady killed me like 20 times with her sweep
