This is sort of like the souls difficulty argument. I'm not saying it shouldn't but i wonder how you'd actually want it to be different? Lower move pool? less damage? less health?

Yeah i think this requires either really good reactions or just ..practise? i guess? You're right about Souls. There was always the fallbacks of "well i can just increase my vitality" or coop or something. When you get the hang of a boss in this game though it feels SO good tho.

Not everyone has the time or patience to spend hours practicing. Besides if a game doesn’t click with you no amount of practice will change that. I can’t get in to DS at all despite spending tens of hours trying. Looks like I’ll be giving this a miss then.

I kind of agree though i think for me at least that's partly because it's not really a souls game. The combat is so different you kind of have to relearn it. It feels to me a lot like the first time i ever played a souls game.
