Sometimes people ask why I don't share opinions on current events & news stories as much anymore. It's mostly cause: 1. As I get older I prefer a nice quiet life over noise & conflict. 2. I question my own takes on stuff more these days & find concrete opinions harder to form.

It's a phenomenon that seems especially pronounced on Twitter - giving a hot take on every story or scandal or drama can become addictive or even feel like a responsibility. But it's totally fine to take breaks from it or just keep your opinions to yourself sometimes as well

Deleting Twitter and FB off my phone was the best decision I ever made for my mental health. It's amazing how much the FOMO will make one afraid to take a break. But after taking those steps, I realize that fear is overblown. Hot take culture needs to go away; it helps nothing.
