I enjoy goofing off with friends in games like Destiny or Fortnite or whatever, but I absolutely need my time to enjoy games like you said. I love losing myself in a well developed world/story.

Plus nothing breaks immersion quicker than having xXXehanort69Xx trying to bother you during a quiet stroll.

MMOs also break the immersive feel when areas reset for the next player. It's hard to feel like you've done anything in ESO, for example, when the Dark Anchors keep falling after you defeat Molag Bal, or when you defeat the same huge world monster or event for the umpteenth time.

Lots of good multiplayer games use phasing for this. World changes after major event and you are moved to another phase where world is adjusted. Just so sad that so many people miss on great content/story/world just because the don't like MMO...

I agree wholeheartedly. Other people break the immersion big time.

I have never put more than 8 hours into a multiplayer game, I get bored by the repetition. I’m not a competitive person and I don’t find playing MMOs or getting better at match-based games to be rewarding at all.
