    Last year Avast was caught harvesting users' browsing data through its browser extensions. Google, Mozilla, etc removed them. But we've found through leaked documents + other info that the collection hasn't stopped. It now happens through the AV itself

    To add some context, Chrome's XSS Auditor was found to introduce exactly the same class of side-channel vulnerabilities. After several back and forths with the team that discovered the issue, we determined that it was inherent to the design and had to remove the code.

    Apple/Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention is a mechanism intended to improve privacy. It was found to have privacy vulnerabilities allowing sites to track the user (and fingerprint), and to stealing web browser history of a user. Incredible find.

    I just updated my LinkedIn to show my job change and this company called my former boss and LIED that I had been working with them on a deployment. Absolutely despicable business practices. you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves.

    Don't try to bully me into buying an appliance that you shipped me as a demo. It won't work on me. "But it would be expensive for us to have you ship it back." How is that my problem in the slightest?! I was upfront about only wanting a budgetary quote.
