curious if you guys think all books on screenwriting and/or comedy writing are junk — seems that way from browsing at Barnes & Noble.
Any outliers you’re aware of that are actually good?

Save the Cat good. How to Write Movies For Fun and Profit by Lennon & Garant is fun and illuminating in a different way
-
Also Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott is good about writing in general, and the movie Adaptation captures a lot of spirit and principles
-
Oh – and a GREAT lesser known book on writing habits especially procrastination: The 7 Secrets of the Prolific by Hillary Rettig. I think only on iBooks/Kindle

really appreciate the input man, thank you!

It's an easy read and easy to translate into your own screenplay. Whereas McKee's "Story" makes you feel like you're back in that seminar in college that almost killed you with boredom.
