Like, what is the purpose of that period?? It couldn't just be 'thanks' why does there have to be a finality of statement with that period at the end!! It's maddening 🙃

Wait - when did adding a period to a text make it hostile? I always thought it was just proper grammar. :D

It is, but I think a better way to react (in text) to someone in a case like this is "Thanks!" because it's just a little more "thankful" and less dismissive.

I’ve known this woman for 33 years, that period means she’s mad about something!

My advice? Use that same device to call her and talk to her in person. I mean, it's her birthday, maybe that's what's upsetting her - you sent a text instead of talking to her?

So true. My dad asks why we never text him... 1. He has T9! 2. He never has it powered on because he is usually home and has something called a landline. (What's a landline? What's T9?)
