who do you snap with?

Mike and my other best friends. I probably snap five people loyally every day and then others I chat with if I respond to their stories or have something quick to tell them that doesn't need to be saved

Instagram is just great...don't like the ephemeral messages on Snapchat. On Instagram, you can go back and look at photos or share them. Showing my age?

Tumblr had such a brief window of hipness

I'm so old it was after my time but it reminds me of the brief heydays of Livejournal, blogger, FriendFeed ... I see people using Insta now the way they used to use Tumblr. I guess people migrate to the minimum viable platform with the biggest potential reach...

I used to hang out with David Karp in 2007 and tried to shift from LJ to Tumblr around then but never quite got into it because Tumblr did not reward longford writing (or, uh, writing at all, really); but it's fascinating to me that it had less than a decade of being a thing.

snapchat reminds me of Monopoly; you can't play without friends. none of my friends have snapchat so its a completely alien software to me.
