Any chance you can add an option to "Open Links in the Background"?
E.g. when reading newsletters I always prefer to open links in the background and keep reading the email.

Hi there!
1. If you hold down the Command key while clicking on a link, it will open in the background.
2. Also, you can control-click on a link and choose Open in Background from the context menu.
Do these options help?

Geez, I swear I tried that. That works fine. As does middle-mouse.
I feel embarrassed as that's a common pattern I could have sworn I tried 😆
