out of curiosity - are there any 10.5.7 specific APIs you're using that would prevent usage of older systems?

There aren’t any API dependencies per se, but there are some behavioral differences in the WebKit framework that are resulting in some pretty serious bugs on older versions of 10.15.
Unfortunately Apple doesn’t make older versions of 10.15 available for download, and the 3rd party download links we tried were all malware, so we couldn’t find an easy way to test and debug the reported issues. Hence, this warning until we figure that out.

Thanks for the explanation. My experience on 10.15.6 is pretty good, and I wish there was a way (maybe even a hidden defaults key) to supress the update alert. In any case, I'm happy to test things out on some of my older macs if there's anything specific to test.
