Any plans to allow showing avatars in messages list? I didn’t see it listed on the roadmap.

So far, this hasn't been prioritized because there is no public Google API to fetch photos for an address that isn't a contact 😞 – so most users just would see placeholders. But if you'd like to have it as an option, please submit this at mimestream.com/roadmap! Thanks!

Interesting. I'd actually be ok with placeholders or initials (MS, AC, GL etc). I just really like having a large glancable visual indicator of which emails are interrelated in my messages list.
Will submit to the roadmap!

Fair enough, and yeah we'd do standard macOS monograms. If there was API to get the Google contact photos, we would definitely have this in there by default. I suppose if you are reasonably diligent with putting photos into Contacts, it could be good too. Thanks for submitting!

Makes sense. Out of curiosity, what allows an email app like Spark or Airmail to get the contact photos? But that can’t be implemented for Mimestream? - Sidenote: I absolutely love how lightning fast Mimesteam is 😁

Mimestream currently gets photos from Apple Contacts. I think those apps use Gravatar.com, which requires sending email address hashes to that service, and it's something we'll think about adding as an opt-in thing.
