is there a shortcut key that maps to essentially "Check for new messages" or "Refresh inbox"? In Gmail on web I'd normally press the 'u' key to do this.

The intention is that Mimestream instantly gets new messages by push, the way apps like Slack and WhatsApp do, so there's no button or shortcut. If you see any issues with this, please report a bug! 🙏
(For beta / debugging purposes, there is Mimestream > Advanced > Synchronize)

Thanks for the prompt reply! That makes sense and is a good product decision. Two things:
1️⃣ Is there also an 'Activity Window' similar to what Apple Mail has? Or 'Show logs', etc?
2️⃣ I would pay extra for a premium tier that preserved 'Advanced' options, but wasn't on the beta.

Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it! Regarding (1), there isn't an activity window, but for debugging purposes logs can be streamed in Terminal by running:
log stream --predicate "process == 'Mimestream' AND subsystem == 'com.mimestream.Mimestream'"

the issue I've noticed is that it doesn't always do this when in the background, then when foregrounded it sometimes takes 5+ seconds, without any indication of whether it is checking or not. without indication, I don't know when it last checked everything. do not feel in control
