Out today! (what an end to the year!) The final open access version of our paper is now in : We show that the human brain functional parcels (or nodes of the network) reconfigure based on the brain state. More in threads:

To end on a positive note: NIAK has helped me and others to do science for many years and I learned tons. But moving forward I will do my best to work with a community. I am now convinced it is the only feasible way for sustainable, high quality software in academia.

Interesting new modeling approach can predict spectral and spatial components of functional connectivity based on structural connectivity. "[...] certain brain oscillations are emergent properties of the graph structure"

Out today in PNAS: We see MTL theta as people navigate the world, but do we also see it as they "navigate" their memories? Yes! We found that hippocampal theta increased as subjects jumped between memories in abstract temporal and semantic spaces.

Really excited about this paper showing how the default mode network contributes to both reading and off task thought through the different modes of operation it can form. Brilliant work by , and Beth Jefferies.

Just submitted our new automated meta-analysis tool for publication: I think that the tool is super useful. I dread that it might not be deemed neurosciency enough by peer review. In the mean time, use it to do good science!

New preprint! On how we can leverage naturalistic stimuli - known for evoking strong shared responses - to get at individual differences as well. Part review, part "think piece", plus some empirical results thrown in. Feedback welcome

I now read most statements like "okay but what's the hypothesis?" as euphemisms for "I need you to provide me with a simple-minded story that soothes the savage feelings of doubt that threaten to overwhelm my senses whenever I catch a glimmer of the true complexity of our world"
