Concerns about outdoor transmission risk seem to be trending again. What is the risk of transmission outdoors and should we be more worried about outdoors with the new more-transmissible variant? 🧵(1/n)

Just another example of how “liberating women” (by forcibly inserting IUDs, requiring abortions, and sterilizing them, in this case) is used to justify state violence. Paging all the incredible work by & for anyone interested in learning more.

Gavin Williamson rejected BT’s offer to provide free/cheap broadband for thousands of working class families & returned free WiFi vouchers. From the algorithm fiasco, legal threats against schools that wanted to close, recent u-turn to this - how is he STILL Education Secretary?

Delighted to play a small role in , an enormous and wide-ranging discussion of what "transparency" means in various traditions of qualitative research. It was a terrific, collective endeavor & a model of intellectual & epistemological pluralism. Good stuff. Have a read!

Really blown away to see this remarkable collaboration out - it was such an honor and privilege to contribute and I hope it helps further goals of building multiple forms of accountability more deeply into our research practices.

Yes! For e.g., in the international development sector, it is almost always upper caste South Asian feminists (like myself) who are part of "brown women representation", with very little regard to the structures of oppression upper caste women themselves perpetuate.

This is so important, and often seems to be (implicitly) what is expected from 'policy-relevant' research: "It is disingenuous—and dangerous—to shine light only on research that supports what policy-makers want to hear."
