That's one of the sad cosmic ironies of ADHD. Just doing simple things you know will help suddenly become mountains for reasons you simply can't explain. Even knowing it's your brain chemistry isn't playing fair it still "feels" like something you shld just be able to snap out of

Wow. What an amazing graphic. Really nails it. I was diagnosed when I was 35 & I still fall into the same thinking traps minimizing my condition & frustrating myself. And then still doing it even knowing that I'm doing it. It's so easy to get lost in the battle & not know it.

I was diagnosed when I was 9, (and believe me being caught earlier did not make a lick of fucking difference) What this graph fails to outline that while all of this is ADHD, there are also different types of ADHD. Hyperactive, Inattentive, and Combination.

There are definitely different benefits and challenges with both early and late diagnoses. I think earlier is better, but true, it sucks either way.
