Well, protective jurisdiction is a thing, Mainland cops didn’t just abduct him on the HK side.

Game changer. It’s a complete shift in tactics and interpretation of “PRC territory” in PRC law. Not so much protective jurisdiction as turning HK into some sort of legal enclave.
-
Sorry I haven’t followed the whole thing, the law he has allegedly violated was the 治安管理处罚法, which includes some very minor offences like obstructing cops, etc, looks unlikely he’s being prosecuted for something serious.
-
Who knows. Obstructing official duty 妨害公务 is a criminal charge and can result in up to 3yrs imprisonment. What that entails is entirely at the discretion of the PSB and they’re more than happy to fabricate evidence alongside forced confessions obtained on 拘留所/看守所

It’s almost like the CCP does whatever it wants without any actual legal basis
-
There will be a legal basis for it. Just no rule of law, due process or assumption of innocence.

More like the EU, USA and China are going to get their pound of flesh for free. They wouldn't have tried this on an EU or American staffer
