    Christmas treat math, but isn’t math always a treat?

    We made Christmas treats and I asked my 8 Yr old how many we would have if I made 7 rows of 7. His reply: So, 7 x 7 is 4 x 7= 28 & 3 x 7 = 21 so 28 + 21 = 49. 🖤

    I agree with why Jenise said! Presenting contexts - join and separate - together allows for students to make sense, choose strategies based on their sense making from the context and helps them begin to build relationships between addition & subtraction.

    Today we focused on visualizing multiplication/division of decimals so we can see that we don't need to rely on moving decimal points to obtain an answer.
