So far all teams are playing in LA so its not really global. It will trully be city based once all orgs have their own arena/stadium. On this topic, OWL is toe to toe with the LPL, currently building stadiums all over China. What a beautiful time for esport :-)

i will exaggerate slightly to make my point: a bunch of koreans in l.a. does not really come across as a "global esports league with city based teams." structures like this cant be designed, they need to grow organically.

I think OWL is a truly wonderful thing has changed esports, I don't think you need to stretch the definition or dress it up like that in order to convey just how amazing it is. IMO no reason to stretch the definition in order to pander to IOC when the reality is so much cooler.

The league has done a lot of fantastic things and I’m a fan of it but the regionalism is hollow and over-reaching claims are a kind of “first-ism” that does a disservice to esports history as a whole. OWL doesn’t need to do that, it’s already notable.
